The main commodities handled by our chartering department are stone chippings, timber and logs, cement, granite, steel products, light clinker, combine harvesters, bulk minerals, hazardous and project cargoes. The department represents several exclusive accounts and it also charters ships for long term periods - both ordinary dry cargo vessels and container feeders.

Our chartering department deals mainly with dry cargo; cargo sizes range from 1,000 tons to as much as 70,000 tons, although our main activity is in shipments of 3,000 tons to 20,000 tons.

Our policy is primarily to work with ship positions available according to our own database in order to match up with the cargoes we control, although from time to time we cover the market more extensively by circulating the old fashioned way. We do find, however, that the old circulation method provokes less and less response: Messages simply drown in vast amount of communications which seem to be increasing day by day with the popularity of email.

We strongly recommend shipowners to update us with their positions on a regular basis, as this will enable us to propose suitable employment of the cargoes controlled by us.
